Valentine’s day is the day of love! Traditionally, for your significant other but really, why should it only be for them? I think as long as you’re outwardly displaying love and kindness, it doesn’t matter to who! It can be as simple as showing up to work with a box of chocolates or taking your spouse out for an elaborate eight-course meal! Going to the hospital to say “hi” to an elderly relative or volunteering at a local shelter are all ways of showing love if you ask me!
And in this particular case, this was a mix of column a and b. Elizabeth Holt from Georgia got a multi-layered surprise at work that brought her to tears – then she was jumping for joy!
Elizabeth was at work when her husband nonchalantly walked in and surprised her with a large bouquet of flowers and a balloon for the occasion. Just as she’s processing the pleasant surprise, son number one strolls in with another bouquet of beautiful flowers. Cue Elizabeth’s tears! She starts to cry at all the lovely attention from her family. Just in case that wasn’t enough, son number two walks up with yet another bunch of stunning flowers, only to finally end with son number three who did the same! Imagine Elizabeth’s shock and delight!
And it doesn’t end there! The third son asks, “Where’s your key?” to which she looks utterly confused, and replies “What?” “I got it,” He says and hands her the key he had in his pocket. Completely overwhelmed, in tears and unsure of what’s going on around her, Elizabeth is led outside for the big reveal.
One of Elizabeth’s sons, Matthew Collins, said that growing up they were poor, but there was always so much love around the house. “Everything we are as a company or individuals comes back to the love that this woman has instilled in us our whole lives.”
