We change our hair for different reasons, but sometimes it’s not for looks or vanity. For many cancer patients facing difficult but lifesaving chemotherapy treatments, losing their hair is just one more emotional blow during an already stressful time.
Following a devastating cancer diagnosis, a young woman named Laura turned to Jerome Lordet of Pierre Michel Salon in New York City. She had always had long hair but wanted something short, stylish, and easy to care for as she started her cancer treatments.
Jordan was happy to take on the new client and to help her hair dreams come true — it seems like a small thing, but he wanted to help her through this emotional time in any way he could. Fortunately, he was able to use his considerable styling talents to give Laura a fabulous makeover.
Laura’s new look meant that Jerome would be cutting off more than a foot of her beautiful hair. It was definitely a shock, but only the first step in a beautiful transformation that would leave with an easy-to-care-for, gorgeous style during her treatments. The stylist cut her hair into a layered pixie that fit Laura’s face perfectly. In my opinion, she was stunning before, but this style fits her perfectly!
