We’ve all been there. Opening your closet to feel like you have nothing to wear. Looking in the mirror and wanting to chop off every inch of hair. Catching your reflection walking down the street and thinking, “Is that me?!” Every few years, it’s not a bad idea to update. It’s as simple as adding a few articles of clothing to your wardrobe (and removing what you don’t wear!) or adding some color to your hair.
Anything to add a little spice and flair to your look. Because, if you look good, you feel good, and if you’ve had the same look for eight years, well, a little update can’t hurt. The enhanced 2.0 version of yourself is always a little faster, smoother, and upgraded!
Wendy is a part-time librarian from Connecticut, USA. She’s 49-years-old and quickly approaching her 50th birthday. While it’s a brand new chapter, a new decade for her to enter, “over the hill” for Wendy comes with a lot of extra emotion.
It was at 50 that Wendy’s mother passed away, which makes this birthday extra special for her. Furthermore, in her mother’s honor, Wendy wants to approach this milestone with a positive attitude. She wants to live more confidently, living her life to the fullest while being the best version of herself.
And, here she is today on the Rachel Ray Show, ready for a full-on makeover. But first things first – Wendy hasn’t cut her long curly hair in eight years. She is equal parts excited to cut it and donate it, but on the other hand, it’s been her claim to fame for as long as she can remember. “People know me by my hair. So all of that is really scary to think that it’s just going to change, but life is changing,” she says.
Standing on stage, Wendy holds Rachel’s hand while the stylist gathers her long curly hair and snips it ALL off. It’s an emotional moment in front of national television, but it’s the first step before they start on her new look. And it’s totally worth it. Wendy emerges looking like a million bucks.
