To make their everyday ride fun, he assigns each child a role, such as police officer and administrative assistant, before they get on-board and tells them to look out for one another.

Curtis also gives the children presents and personal gifts that best fit their individual personalities. That’s how well Curtis knows every single student.

“He helps anyone in need. My mom got divorced when I was only four. He’s the father that I always wanted. In some ways, I wish my dad could have been like that,” says Ethan Ingle a sixth-grader at Lake Highlands Elementary.

“He goes way beyond the outlined responsibilities and duties of a bus driver. I mean, that bus is like a family,” says Emily Grunninger, the Principal at Lake Highlands Elementary.
