People who go above and beyond what’s expected of them are the best people to be with.
Meet Curtis
Curtis Jenkins is a bus driver for Lake Highlands Elementary.
He Is Loved By Many
He is known for having a great relationship with every student that he drives to and from school every day.
He Creates A Harmonious Community
To make their everyday ride fun, he assigns each child a role, such as police officer and administrative assistant, before they get on-board and tells them to look out for one another.
His Generous Heart
Curtis also gives the children presents and personal gifts that best fit their individual personalities. That’s how well Curtis knows every single student.
He’s A Father To Many
“He helps anyone in need. My mom got divorced when I was only four. He’s the father that I always wanted. In some ways, I wish my dad could have been like that,” says Ethan Ingle a sixth-grader at Lake Highlands Elementary.
The Principal Notices His Great Work
“He goes way beyond the outlined responsibilities and duties of a bus driver. I mean, that bus is like a family,” says Emily Grunninger, the Principal at Lake Highlands Elementary.
His Good Karma
CBS Evening News filmed a segment on Curtis which drove someone to contact the school to reward Curtis with his own car.
He Also Got A Promotion
The school also assigned a new role to Curtis and increased his salary accordingly. Aside from driving buses, he also teaches others how to have amazing student relationships.
Truly, our good works will pay off one day. Those who have the kindest hearts have the best things in store for them.
