PexelsKayla’s made friends with a woman in her 80s who would collect her mail every day. They had spoken several times and have become familiar with each other.
Something Odd
PexelsOne Thursday, Kayla noticed that four days of deliveries stood untouched at the woman’s porch and her car was still in the driveway.
She Called For Help
YouTube, WCVB Channel 5 BostonWorried, Kayla made the call, and police arrived to check the home. Detective Wedgeworth was the first officer on the scene.
They Saw The Woman
PexelsNewmarket Police Department said on a Facebook post, “Once inside the residence officers discovered the elderly subject was trapped under items that had fallen on her inside the bedroom. It was determined that she had been trapped on the floor for at least 3 days and possibly longer.”
The Rescuers Arrived
PexelsNewmarket Fire and Rescue arrived to transport the woman to the hospital. She was treated for hypothermia and dehydration.
