It’s completely normal to think that kids are too young to know and be aware of safety precautions. Most of them just want to play and roam around for fun, so their safety is all dependent on their guardians.

Grandpas may not be as expressive of their love as grandmas, but we know for sure that they love their grandkids as dearly.

He built him a special and safe place to sleep that could also be a fun place to stay in as it is designed after Winnie The Pooh’s house.

Keeping Him Safe

He did this to keep him safe during nighttime as the Autism Spectrum Disorder Foundation says that “Children with autism have a tendency to wander in the middle of the night. Secure his room by locking the door from the outside or placing a baby gate at the door. Though it may feel like you are imprisoning your child, this is for his safety and best interest.”

The front door dons a sign with his grandson’s name, “Mr. Sanders,” and Pooh’s friends, Eeyore, Tigger, and Pigglet, are all waiting by the door.

Grandpa made the bed with wheels so it can be easily moved around and the “box” can be transformed into a normal bedroom if needed.

Safety Features

As his main reason for constructing this bed for his son is his safety, he made sure to include a smoke detector, CO2 detector, alarm systems, and security cameras to ensure protection.

He also worked closely with the local fire department to gather feedback on his design and to ensure that the bed would still allow room for any rescue or escape efforts during an emergency.
