Talented Vet Serenades Dogs At The Clinic

Music makes things a little better, and this vet makes use of that fact to help his furry patients.

The Power Of Music

Studies say that some music, particularly classical tunes, can relax dogs as rhythms and harmonies seem to lower heart rates, cut stress levels, and even lessen barking in certain dogs.

Meet Dr. Henderson

Dr. Ross Henderson is a talented veterinarian from Fox Hollow Animal Hospital in Colorado. His patients love him because he’s not only after treating sick animals with medicines, but he helps them become comfortable at the clinic by playing music for them.

A lot of pets dread going to the vet because of some traumatic treatment, but Dr. Henderson has figured out a way to help ease the animals’ anxiety.

His Secret Weapon

Dr. Henderson always keeps his guitar at his office, and he and his team use the power of music to soothe their patients and make them feel safe.

One day, a golden retriever puppy named Ruby was scheduled to be spayed and she was evidently anxious, but fortunately, Dr. Henderson knew what he needed to do in this kind of situation, so he went on and grabbed his guitar.

The Perfect Song

He rested the scared pup on his lap and started playing and singing “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley. His singing worked like magic. After a short while, Ruby was already relaxed and at ease. Dr. Henderson said, “She calmed down and put her head on my lap. It’s a good testimony to how effective music can be.”
