UPS Driver Saves Dog From Being Sent To A Shelter After Its Owner Dies

This UPS driver had no idea she would be spending more time than she thought with the dog she sees every day on her route.

Katie Newhouser has been going around on wheels for 15 years. She’s already made a lot of friends around the hood.

She automatically stops whenever she sees a neighbor with a dog, and that’s how she got to know Tina and Leo.

Katie would usually see Tina walking Leo, her pup, outside their condo complex in Rancho Cucamonga, California. “Whenever I’d turn up at the complex, he’d apparently go crazy, and he’d want to come down and see me,” Newhouser told The Dodo.

A Dramatic Change Happened

In October 2016, Katie saw Tina’s son moving furniture out of Tina’s home. She didn’t know she’d already passed away until she tried calling her and no one was answering.

Leo Had Nowhere To Go

Katie found out that Tina’s son had joined the Marines, leaving him with no other choice but to send Leo to a shelter.

No Hesitation

Without any second thoughts, Katie suggested that she would be happy to take Leo home with her until Cannon, Tina’s son, could get him from his training.

Although Leo still sometimes cries late at night because he misses Tina, he’s getting used to his new home with his new family of 2 other sibling dogs.
