There are times when we may get ourselves into horrible situations, so we must know even just a few safety tricks.
“My Hands Are Tied”
Today Show host, Jeff Rossen, explained the things you need to remember when you’re zip-tied or locked in a car trunk.
Calmness Is The Key
Of course, being in that scary situation is frightening, but if you remain calm, you can easily set yourself free from the ties.
Just Lift Your Arms
The first step is lifting your arms as high as you can and then pulling them down to your chest. Push your stomach out and spread your elbows while doing so. In no time, the zip-tie will fall off.
Brittany’s Story
Just recently, Brittany Diggs got kidnapped in Alabama, but she managed to escape because she stayed calm and managed to think of a plan.
Caught On Cam
As she was in the car trunk and the kidnappers were driving off, she found the latch which served as her key to escaping. The suspenseful event was captured on a CCTV camera.
A Safety Feature
Trunk latches have been placed in every passenger car since 2001 because this was required by the law, so anyone who is trapped inside the car can easily get out.
An Interesting Experiment
In one of his show’s episodes, Jeff Rossen took people of all ages and sizes and asked them to try to set their hands free from a zip tie and escape from a car trunk.
He Struggled Too
Even Jeff got into the trunk to escape, and although he found it a little bit difficult because of the darkness inside the trunk, all of them managed to get out of the car and set themselves free from the zip tie.
