Teen Gets Rescued After Flashing TikTok Hand Signals To Passing Cars

A driver on Kentucky’s Interstate 75 noticed something odd inside a silver Toyota.

“Random” Hand Gestures?

The driver got alarmed when the 16-year-old inside the car was gesturing to other passing drivers with the hand signal repeatedly.

He Knows What It Means

When he realized that the hand signals were a call for help, the driver followed the vehicle for seven miles until Laurel County police were able to stop the car.

A Girl In Distress

The teenage girl, as it turns out, was kidnapped by a man named James Herbert Brick, 61, of Cherokee, N.C. who was arrested and charged with unlawful imprisonment and possession of a minor in a s****l manner.

She Knew What To Do

It’s a good thing that the girl knew what to do during incidents like this: holding up a palm facing the person you’re talking to, tucking your thumb into your palm, and folding your fingers down over your thumb, “trapping” it in.

Lessons From TikTok

She said that she learned the “Palm, Tuck, Trap” signal from TikTok where the Canadian Women’s Foundation teaches their followers helpful things to do against violence and poverty.
