Military Dad Disguises As Tiger Mascot To Surprise His Son On First Day Of School

Dads have a special bond with their sons. One of the reasons for this is that they might want to see their little guys grow up to be like them – a respectful and honorable gentleman.

Meet Sergeant Chronister

Sergeant Perry Chronister is a member of the U.S. National Guard, which means that from time to time, he is deployed to different parts of the world for a certain period of time.

Longing Family

Being away from your loved ones for the sake of your duty and service to the country is no joke. It means you have to miss a lot of important events in your family’s life and celebrate your special days as well alone and apart from them.

His Son

Perry’s son, 7-year-old Eli, is now a second-grader at an Ohio elementary school, but he’s not as excited for his first day of class as his dad wasn’t around to walk or drive him to school.

1 Year Away

For the past year, Perry had been deployed in the Middle East, but he kept his homecoming a secret from his son because he had a special surprise for him in mind.

Surprise Guest

On Eli’s first day of school, Perry dressed up as a tiger mascot. He entered his son’s classroom and greeted everyone in there.

His Reaction

Perry knelt in front of Eli then removed the tiger’s head and showed his face. In no time, his surprised son leaped into his arms while overwhelmed with joy.

What A Sight!

Eli’s teacher explained to the class what was happening and why this moment was so important as the son and dad shared a warm hug.

Here With Me

It’s heartwarming to witness such a beautiful moment between a son and a father. We’re sure that Perry and Eli have a lot of bonding ideas in mind to make up for the lost 1 year.
