Sweet Grandpa Sings “What A Wonderful World” To Grandson With Down Syndrome

The world we live in may sometimes be filled with noise and negativity, but when we surround ourselves with people who give off good vibes and only love, we can start to appreciate how wonderful the world really is.

Meet Grandpa Dave

Grandpa Dave is loved by everyone. He shares lots of quality moments with his family, especially the young ones with whom he can impart his wisdom and share his love.

Special Kiddo

He has a grandson named Joseph who was born with Down Syndrome, but this only made him love him even more.

He Has Special Needs

While a typical baby is born with 46 chromosomes, those with Down Syndrome, however, were born with an extra copy of one of these chromosomes, specifically chromosome 21, which affects their physical and mental development.

Music Helps

Studies have shown that music therapy for people with Down Syndrome helps improve their memory, communication, and social skills, and can also be a fun way to take on challenging or repetitive tasks.

Sweet Moment

During a family gathering, one of Joseph’s aunts named Meghan Gonoude captured a sweet moment between him and his Grandpa Dave.

He Sings

Joseph was sitting on Grandpa Dave’s lap as he was singing Louis Armstrong’s “What A Wonderful World” to him.

It’s A Wonderful World

The old man sang the song passionately as if he was meaning to tell the young boy that it’s a wonderful world we’re living in, no matter what his condition is.

A Moment To Remember

The two of them might not have an idea at the moment, but it was definitely a sweet memory the two of them will always keep in their hearts as years go by.
