Traveling with a baby has its pros and cons. You get to enjoy the trip with your little one, but you also have to consider the laws and regulations about flying with a newborn baby.
Meet Rubin
Rubin Swift was excited when he found out that he was granted full custody of his newborn baby, Ru-Andria.
Traveling Back
He immediately traveled from Cleveland to Phoenix to fetch his baby back to his hometown and had all the documents for their trip ready.
But There Was A Problem
He presented the documents to the ticket agent but he refused to allow 4-day-old Ru-Andria to fly because she was too young as the airline prohibits babies who are younger than 7 days from boarding a plane.
They Were Stranded
Rubin was in disbelief because he didn’t know anyone in Phoenix and sleeping at the airport wasn’t an option because he’s with a little baby.
He Made A Phone Call
Suddenly, he remembered the woman named Joy whom he met at the maternity ward. Joy is an elderly woman who volunteers in the area and she gave him her phone number and told him to call her in case of emergencies.
She Came To The Rescue
When Joy learned about Rubin and Ru-Andria’s situation, she rushed into the airport, fetched the pair, took them home, provided food, and gave them a comfortable place to rest.
An Angel In Disguise
Rubin said, “Miss Joy was like an angel and she really bonded with Andria. Whenever my daughter heard her voice, her face would light up. As soon as she took us in, I knew we’d be friends for life.”
A New-Found Friend
After 3 days, when Rubin and Ru-Andria finally got the approval to head home, he promised to stay in touch with Joy. The woman said, “We just knew that we’d always be in touch from that day forward. We started out as strangers, and ended up as good friends. Rubin is very grateful to me, but I’m also very grateful to have had the opportunity.”
