Zuzu is a German Shepherd who lost her dad when she was only two years old.

The Impact On Her Behavior

Zuzu’s depression caused her to often cry and whine. She even tried to escape the yard several times by jumping over the fence and getting into the neighbor’s yard.

She Got Lost

When she escaped again, the Downey Animal Control Center in California found her and took her in.

They Noticed Her Sadness

Desi Lara, a volunteer at the shelter, said, “She is a friendly girl but I sensed sadness and confusion. Most dogs zoom around the yard. She trod softly, nervous to look around.”

An Unexpected Day

One day, Zuzu suddenly became ecstatic. That’s because she saw her previous owners in the animal shelter.

But They’re Not There For Her

Sadly, her previous owners were there to adopt another dog. They didn’t want Zuzu anymore because of her emotional and behavioral problems.

Waiting For A Permanent Home

It was a heartbreaking scene, but the volunteers hope nothing else but for Zuzu to finally find a permanent home one day.
