We are all afraid of something. While others think that the things that cause us fear are silly, it may be a big deal to us, just like this adorable golden retriever who’s afraid of escalators.
Escalaphobia
The fear of escalators is called “escalaphobia.” The Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation (EESF) says that over 35,000 escalators in the United States and Canada are being ridden by 245 million people every day, but despite these numbers, escalators are still scary for some people.
Meet Google
As a matter of fact, humans are not the only ones who are afraid of escalators. There are dogs like Google, the golden retriever, who also can’t stand them.
Loved By His Parents
Google was adopted by his parents in 2016 when he was just a little puppy. On his first Christmas with them, he met Santa Claus and even got to sit on his lap.
He Witnessed Their Milestones
Google has shared a lot of memories with his parents. He was even lucky enough to attend their wedding and celebrate with them.
A Big Challenge
Now that he’s faced with the big challenge of riding an escalator, his dad is, of course, extra caring and supportive of him. He immediately noticed when Google shrank down onto the floor and refused to go near the escalator.
No Other Option
Google’s owner knew that he couldn’t convince him to step his paws on the escalator steps so he just leaned down, lifted the big dog up, and carried him over to the escalator.
Holding On For Dear Life
Google clung to his owner as they started ascending the escalator while some passers-by smiled at the adorable sight of them.
Internet Famous
Google’s other owner recorded the whole thing and shared it with the dog’s 120,000 followers on Instagram.
