We were taught as kids to not walk the streets alone for they can be dangerous and full of bad people.

A nearby Ring camera recorded the incident of kidnapping where the woman was heard yelling at the younger kid to get into the van.

The children were not visible in the Ring camera video as a tree was blocking them from view, but the older kids didn’t leave their younger brother and went in the van with him instead.

The woman sped away but ran a red light, which was a mistake as two observant Detroit police officers, Officer Parrish and Officer Flannel, were there.

They Questioned Her

The officers stopped the driver and spoke to her. They asked her some questions to try and figure out what was actually going on because they felt that something was wrong with the kids.

The two officers asked the woman if the four kids in the van were her children and while she responded, “yes,” the 11-year-old, who was asked outside of the vehicle, responded, “no,” when he was asked if he knew the woman.

He said, “These 2 officers exercised excellent police (investigative) skills… Outstanding work to Officers Flannel and Parrish, two of the hard workers in the Eighth Precinct.”
