Rescue Dog Comforts Another Dog In Recovery

Meet Sammie

Sammie is a 4-month-old Boxer who had been through a lot of unfortunate things awful people have caused.

What Happened To Him

The poor dog had been dragged behind a car, got a bullet in the head, and spray-painted blue by heartless people.

He Got Turned In

A woman brought Sammie into the shelter and handed him over because “he wouldn’t give up”, and as dreadful and as suspicious as the woman’s story is, Rescue Dogs Rock NYC said that a cruelty investigation wouldn’t be possible because the puppy was “signed over” and accepted as a stray.

He Went Through Surgery

The rescue team took Sammie to an emergency vet where it was found out that he has a bullet hole in his head. His skin is also damaged from being dragged behind a vehicle and the bones in at least one of his back legs are severely damaged as well.

He’s Recovering

After his first surgery, which lasted over 3 hours, Sammie was resting when he met Simon who is another rescue dog.

Simon Empathized

Simon who has mange because of neglect from his previous owners came in to check on Sammie to see how he was feeling.

Emotional Support

Despite Sammie’s tough situation, he accepted Simon’s soft touch and was immensely grateful for the love and affection that Simon showed him.
