Rehomed Deaf Dog Can’t Believe She Has A Loving Family Once Again

Finding the perfect home when you’re a shelter dog is quite challenging, especially for pit bulls who are often not chosen during adoption in shelters.

Meet Blu

Blu is a deaf pit bull with a white coat and glorious blue eyes who was staying at the Family Dog Rescue.

Lonely Dog

She had been staying at the shelter for quite a while because no one wanted to bring home a pit bull who had been in the shelter for a long time, especially a deaf one like Blu.

Looking For A Fur Baby

Partners Mark and Sean were looking for a deaf dog to adopt around San Francisco, and they found two at the Family Dog Rescue, and guess what… one of them was Blu.

They’re A Perfect Fit

Mark and Sean saw how Blu’s character perfectly matches theirs. Mark said, “She immediately took a strong affinity towards Sean and the rest is pretty much history.”

Adjusting In Her New Home

Since Blu had been alone for a long time, it took her a while to get comfortable with her new dads. Mark said, “In fact, the first car ride we took her on to the beach, which was a couple of days after getting her – she was petrified. She was just shaking in the back.”

Her Story

Blu’s original owners reached out to Mark and Sean and shared that Blu lived with them for six years until they had to move to a rental home that did not accept pit bulls, so they decided to send Blu to a shelter.

She’s At Home Now

After three years of being with her new family, Blu has formed a strong bond and connection with Mark and Sean and they’ve created their own communication style.

A Happy Family

Blu knows where her owners are going based on the direction of their movement and even sniffs their feet on walks to find out the direction they’re going. Sean said, “I think she’s my spiritual animal I guess. I know when she’s anxious and when she’s happy and sad. We just read each other very well.”
