A lot of people are convinced that family is the most important thing for them, so they will do and sacrifice anything for the welfare of their loved ones, and they deserve the whole world for that.
Meet Emily
13-year-old Emily is only in eighth grade but she’s already been taking on the role of her five siblings’ guardian.
Tragic Story
Emily’s grandma lost the battle with cancer a few years ago, and her mom also passed away in 2020 from pancreatic cancer just a week before her birthday.
A Big Responsibility
Being the eldest among the siblings, Emily had to help her father take care of their family at such a young age.
Secret Santa
An anonymous person called “Secret Santa” who has partnered with East Idaho News for seven years to give gifts to those who are deserving gave away $1 million in presents this year.
Christmas Wish
Emily’s friend wrote East Idaho’s “Secret Santa” and told them about her story and why she deserves a gift this Christmas.
Surprise Visit
Nate Eaton and the East Idaho News elves went to Emily’s house to give her gifts but she wasn’t home yet, said her dad, so they waited for a few moments until they caught her and her brother walking home.
Generous Gifts
Nate handed her a box full of multiple gift cards worth a thousand dollars from different local restaurants and another box that contained $2,000 worth of gift cards for all their personal needs.
Supporting Her Passion
Emily’s friend mentioned in the letter that she loves to cook and dreams of becoming a chef someday so they also gave her another box containing a $1,000 gift card from grocery stores and another $1,000 gift card for Bed, Bath, And Beyond.
She Couldn’t Believe It
Emily and her family were incredibly surprised by what just happened. All of them were overjoyed by the generous gifts. Emily said, “To whoever did this, thank you.”
