Everybody loves a great time at the beach. It’s the perfect place to enjoy the sun and the sea breeze, but sometimes, it can also be a place to find strange animals doing strange things in the water.
Surfing Destination
The Tourmaline Surf Park in San Diego is a popular beach where surfers can enjoy gentle waves against their boards.
The Residents
In this area, it is quite usual for a surfer to spot dolphins and seals swimming along with them, but there’s this one seal that captures a lot of attention because of his behavior.
Too Friendly
Recently, a baby seal was seen hopping onto the boards of surfers.
He Wants To Chill
Ed Hartel, a videographer and drone operator said, “He’ll sit there for five or ten minutes and then paddle out to another surfboard, and he just does it all morning long.”
He’s An Orphan
People are wondering what the reason is for the baby seal’s behavior, and as it turns out, there are some people who saw a great white shark eat the baby seal’s mom, and the poor pup has been stuck at the beach since then.
Concerned Citizens
Some concerned people reported the baby seal to the city of San Diego and Sea World, and they have sent out teams to check on the pup.
He’s Fine
However, since the baby seal is not stranded on the beach and not injured, they decided to leave him alone.
Part Of The Experience
For now, the baby seal is alright, living on its own. He looks happy, after all. He just loves interacting with the surfers and making rounds on surfboards. He now seems to be a part of the surfing experience in the area.
