Animal Rescuer Writes An Open Letter To The Owner Who Abandoned His Dog

Meet Banjo

Banjo is probably the most loyal and patient dog you’ll ever know.

People Found Him

The Kings SPCA Rescue in California received countless emails about an abandoned dog spotted on 15th ave and Excelsior ave.

A Heartless Owner

It turns out Banjo’s owner left him there 5 days ago and didn’t come back.

His Only Meal

Banjo was eager to wait for his owner. He didn’t leave the place. When he got hungry, he would eat sticks to survive.

Earning His Trust

Brooke Rapozo, one of the rescuers, fed Banjo and offered him a blanket to earn his trust.

Saying Goodbye

Eventually, Banjo came with the rescuers. With a heavy heart, he painfully howled while they were driving away from the place where his owner left him.

A Brand New Life

The rescuers gave him a new name. He’s now known as Jake. He’s living a better and happier life with his new dog friends at a regional park.

An Emotional Letter

Jake’s story was told on a Facebook post by Brooke and was openly addressed to Jake’s owner.
