She named her house “Ahurewa,” which means “sacred place” because she honors the sacredness of the earth by living in the most environmentally responsible way possible.

Rosie’s house gets its power from twelve solar panels on a 4kW setup. It also has two 2,500-liter water tanks and a vermicomposting toilet, and the water waste is routed to tanks utilized in a composting system.

She gets her food from her small garden where she lets plants that grow naturally in the region bloom. This is where she also grows edible and medicinal plants for her personal use.
