Letting go is part of loving, and this little boy surely knows what selfless love is.
A Puppy Was Found By The Shelter
A shelter in Mexico found a box on their doorstep on the 13th of February 2020, and to their surprise, a pitbull puppy was inside it.
A Mexican Shelter For Dogs
Xollin serves as a shelter for abandoned dogs in the Mexican state of Michoacan.
A Letter Was Left Together With The Puppy
The previous owner, Andres, a 12-year-old boy, told the story of why he left the puppy through a letter.
His Father Abused The Puppy
“He is always beating and kicking the dog. Once he kicked him so hard that his little tail got injured,” Andres wrote.
Something To Remember Him By
Andres also left a plush toy with the puppy so he won’t forget him. The shelter named the pitbull puppy, Rene.
People Are Moved By Rene’s Story
After Xollin’s post about Andres and Rene’s story, there were about 300 people who showed interest in adopting Rene.
But He Wasn’t Ready For Adoption Yet
“We need to take the dog to the vet so he can check his tail, which apparently is fractured. We also need to remove parasites and get him a check-up. This means more expenses and work for us, but luckily the dog will be safe,” wrote Xollin in their Facebook post.
Other Fur Friends Waiting For Adoption
Xollin is grateful for everyone who showed concern for Rene, but they reminded people that Rene is not the only dog in desperate need of a good home. There are lots of dogs in the shelter who are also looking for a family to take them.
