Momma Gorilla Hugs Her Baby For Hours Right After Birth

Nothing is more beautiful than the way a mother holds her newborn shortly after birth, and it’s no different with one gorilla mother name Kala.

Momma Kala Recently Gave Birth To Her Little One

Gorillas Kala and Jock welcomed their child into the world at Bristol Zoo Gardens in England on August 19, 2020.

The Baby Gorilla’s Birth is One to Celebrate

It’s always exciting having a new edition, but the fact that the gorilla population is critically endangered makes this baby even more special.

Plus, the Newborn is a Rainbow Baby

“Last year she did have a pregnancy and birth [via emergency c-section] but it didn’t go as planned and unfortunately the baby didn’t survive,” explained Zoo Worker Lynsey Bugg.

This Time, She Was Able to Give Birth Naturally

Luckily, everything went smoothly, and there weren’t any unexpected complications.

Kala Seems Very Happy with the Successful Birth This Time Around

She’s enjoying every second of motherhood. Just look at that smile!

Now She Can’t Stop Cuddling Her Baby

It hasn’t even been a month yet, and they have an inseparable bond already.

One more healthy edition to the gorilla gang!

The Gender of the Baby is Unknown Right Now

It’s still a little early to tell. However, once the gender is officially revealed, I’m sure the zoo will want to name him or her.

Congratulations Kala and Jock!

They both seem to be adapting to life as parents pretty well.
