Unexpected things happen around Christmas time. It’s also the season when magical things happen, and for this single mom who selflessly takes care of her family, the gifts she’s received this year are more than enough.
Secret Santa
A local Secret Santa is generously giving away $1 million to deserving people in Eastern Idaho this year.
Meet Teacher Jen
One of Secret Santa’s lucky recipients this year is Jen who is a sixth-grade teacher and a mom of two boys and one girl.
Tough Year
In September, her daughter, Brylee, got sick and was admitted to the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for pneumonia, but her condition worsened over the next few days, and her kidneys also got affected.
Jen’s Decision
Brylee was transferred to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she was diagnosed with vasculitis (an inflammation of the b***d vessels in the nose, throat, kidneys, lungs, and sinuses), so Jen took a leave of absence from teaching to take care of her daughter.
Finding Jen
The Eastern Idaho News Team went to Jen’s house to give her gifts from Secret Santa, but only her son and daughter were home that day so they came back the next day, but Jen still wasn’t home yet.
Finally!
Finally, on the third try, Jen was already home, and she received the generous gifts from Secret Santa with her two sons.
Gift Cards
Host Nate Eaton handed them a box containing $2,000 in gas cards and $3,000 in grocery gift cards.
A Second Box
The News Team gave them another box to open. Inside it was a check for exactly $19,764 to cover her rent for one year.
Attitude Of Gratitude
Jen couldn’t believe what just happened. She and her sons were extremely grateful for the generous gifts. She hugged the whole Eastern Idaho News Team to express her gratitude and wished all of them a merry Christmas.
