The manner of parents while raising their kids has a huge impact on how the children will grow up, and these parents have an interestingly unique way of taking care of their children.

Different Parenting Styles

Parents have different views on how children should be raised. Some want to implement traditional cultures in the household while others are more modern in terms of dealing with their kids.

Gemma and Lewis Rawnsley have seven children whose ages range from 1 to 13 years old.

The Only Rules

Generally, Gemma and Lewis have no boundaries set for their children. The only three rules they’re imposing are: “Don’t lie, don’t be offensive, and don’t hurt anyone.”

They’re Free To Do Anything

Aside from those three rules, the children have the liberty to do anything they want from small things like allowing them to eat ice cream for a midnight snack if they want to up to more serious stuff like wanting to go to school or not.

No Pressure

In fact, their 12-year-old son, Phoenix, only began learning how to read at 9 years old when he told his parents he wanted to.

Learning From Their Actions

Gemma said that if one of her kids wants to do something like getting a tattoo or swinging a pickaxe around, they let them do it as long as they can learn something from it.

Teaching Independence

The parents also aspire to teach their kids independence, so if their 8-year-old daughter decides to shave her head, they will hand her the clippers to do it herself.

“Relaxed” Parenting

Gemma and Lewis believe that despite a lot of people viewing their parenting style as “relaxed,” they are convinced that they are guiding and teaching their children better than many traditional parents today.
