Kind Mom Finds People To Befriend Her Lonely Son With Down Syndrome

As they say, no man is an island. Life is so much more fun when you have people to enjoy it with.

Meet Christian

Christian Bowers is a wonderful 24-year-old man from Minnesota who has a loving mom named Donna Herter.

Things Changed

He used to have a lot of friends when he was in high school, but ever since he graduated 5 years ago, he has been having a hard time finding people to keep him company.

She Noticed

Donna saw how it affected her son. She noticed he had been sad and lonely since he couldn’t find people to be friends with, and it broke her heart.

She Wanted To Do Something

So Donna took to Facebook and created a post saying she was looking for local men aged 20-28 who would like to make $80 for two hours of spending time with her son.

People Responded

When she woke up the next day, she was surprised to see that her post had gained so much engagement. There were people, even from distant places, who offered suggestions and would like to volunteer.

And Then There Were Seven Men

Donna talked to a lot of men who expressed their interest until she had selected seven men who each had a scheduled day of spending time with Christian.

He Was Overjoyed

Christian was happy to finally have friends to bond with. He met different people from different walks of life like a college student who is studying people with disabilities, a member of the Rebels biker gang, some community heroes, and a few members of the Marines.

He Now Has Lots Of Friends

Those seven men weren’t the only friends he’d made because of his mom’s initiative. A lot of people, even from nearby towns, now know who he is and he’s being acknowledged by people wherever he goes.
