Loyal Cat Walks 12 Miles Home And His Family Doesn’t Want Him Back

Meet Toby

Toby is an abandoned cat who went through a lot before he found his forever home who would love and care for him.

No Place For Him

One day, Toby suddenly showed up on the family’s doorstep but he wasn’t getting along with their other cats so they gave him to another family.

Going Back Home

However, Toby wasn’t ready for a new home yet so he walked 12 miles back to his old home.

But They Didn’t Want Him

Instead of getting moved by Toby’s act of loyalty, the family took him to the shelter to euthanize him.

But They Refused

The public shelter called the SPCA which came to rescue Toby right away and make sure he had a medical assessment where they found out that he’s positive for feline immunodeficiency virus, and also had an upper respiratory infection.

Up For Adoption

When she learned that Toby has already recovered and is ready to get adopted, Michele Puckett of Raleigh, North Carolina immediately went to the shelter to meet Toby.

His New Home

Michele took Toby home with her and now Toby has two new humans and two cat siblings. He now enjoys living a happy life and sleeping on soft pillows.

An Inspiration

Michele hopes that Toby would become an inspiration for people to adopt. She said, “There are tons of pets who are easily discarded by their families or a breeder. I really hope he inspires other people to go out and adopt.”
