Sick Dad Who Received Kidney From Anonymous Donor Finds Out It Was From His Own Daughter

His Condition

John had immunoglobulin A deficiency where his overactive immune system was attacking his kidneys.

She Wanted To Help

It was hard for Delayne to see her father go in and out of the hospital because of his illness, so she decided to see if she would be a match to give him one of her kidneys.

She Made The Call

John was totally against the idea of his young daughter giving up a kidney for him, but Delayne sneaked behind his back and got in contact with his hospital coordinator and asked how she would be able to give him her kidney.

The Preparation Started

The coordinator said that as soon as her father was ready for the transplant, they could start running tests on her to make sure she was healthy enough to donate, and she was.

The Grand Reveal

John was only informed that his kidney would be coming from an anonymous donor, but after the transplant operation had taken place, he found out where his new kidney actually came from.

She Came In

While John was sitting in his room, resting after a tiresome operation, Delayne, dressed in a hospital gown and pushing her IV trolly, came into his room, and that’s when he realized what she’d done for him.

A Heartmelting Moment

It was an emotional moment for the father and daughter, and everyone in the room. John started crying, and shared an emotional hug with his precious daughter.

Others Helped Too

Delayne shared their story on TikTok and how they’re now in need of financial help to settle their hospital bills. She said that if 6,000 people donated even only $1 each, their bill would be covered, but lots of people donated (not only $1 each), and eventually, they were able to pay their medical bills and have some funds left for their family until John had recovered enough to get back to work.
