Sailor has been blind since birth. He was diagnosed with optic nerve hypoplasia and Chiari malformation of the brain.

Expecting Someone

Jessica Donnahoo, Sailor’s mom, was just expecting Robert Kinney, a technician from Spectrum, to set up their TV for streaming.

Her Home Was In Chaos

Jessica shared with Good Morning America that when Robert came in for the service, her home was in “chaos”. She was folding the laundry, and trying to do the chores she pushed back while also taking care of her son.

So He Gave Her A Hand

When Robert started working, Sailor went up to him and instead of ignoring him, he looked at Jessica to ask if it was okay for him to pick her kid up. When she seemed okay with it, he scooped him up and bounced him for a bit.

He Didn’t Put Him Down

For the whole duration of the service, which lasted for 45 minutes, Robert didn’t put Sailor down. The only time he did was when he had to get equipment from his truck or when he had to plug in some devices.

Humanity At Its Best

In a Facebook post, Jessica said, “It was a huge relief to this tired momma. Robert could have walked in, rushed, and left but instead, he saw a need greater than internet and met it. That’s beyond customer service- it’s humanity at its best.”

Robert Commended Jessica

The kind technician said of Jessica, “For them to adopt him and take care of him on a daily basis is much more than what I did for a short period of time… They deserve more recognition than anyone.”
