Lee Wilson is a farmer from Kansas who thought of a great idea for his 50th wedding anniversary to his wife, Renee.
Their Story
Lee started catching feelings for Renee in high school but she wasn’t allowed to date until she turned 16.
So He Waited
When Renee’s 16th birthday came, Lee immediately called her to ask her out on a date and she said yes.
First Date
The high school couple went roller skating for their first date, and the rest is history.
50 Years Together
They got married after a few years, raised children, and managed their farm together, and now their 50th wedding anniversary is approaching.
An Idea
Lee knew that Renee loves sunflowers, so with the help of their son, he started planting sunflower seeds on their farmland in May.
August Came
About 1.2 million sunflowers bloomed on their 80-acre farmland in August, and it’s the most beautiful thing ever.
Perfect Gift
Renee was overjoyed with her loving husband’s anniversary gift. She said, “It made me feel very special. It couldn’t have been a more perfect anniversary gift than a field of sunflowers.”
