Homeless Man Throws A Simple Birthday Party For His Two Dogs

Home is where the heart is, they say, and a lot of people can agree that it’s not about where you live, but who you are spending each of your days with.

Meet Choco

Choco is a homeless man who lives with his two dogs, Shaggy and Nena, on the streets of Bucaramanga, Colombia.

Birthday Party

One night, he was spotted by a passerby singing “Happy Birthday” to his two dogs who were both wearing birthday hats.

Their Birthday Cake

Choco gave them some hugs and pets before lighting some candles for the birthday cake he got for them. He sang them a birthday song then he blew out the candles before giving them each a kiss.

A Happy Moment

Choco used a plastic knife to cut a slice for Shaggy and Nena, and cut another slice for himself before they all enjoyed some cake for dinner.

His Story

The passerby who saw the event approached Choco and asked him about his life. He learned that he had been living on the streets for several years after leaving an abusive home situation, and that’s when he came across Shaggy and Nena, who eventually became his family.

Helping Choco

The person who recorded the whole thing offered Choco help by posting the video online and asking people to donate food, supplies, and money to help Choco and his dogs.

People Came

People started visiting the park to bring their dogs and give him some help. He was also gifted a phone, which helped him start an Instagram account that now has more than 187,000 followers.

New Opportunities

Choco has been using his account to sell shirts and donate some of the profits to stop animal abuse. He dreams of opening an animal shelter someday and pursuing a career in music.
