We love it when children amaze us with their hidden talents.
An Expression
Dancing is one of the most common ways of expressing oneself, especially for those who are not good at speaking or writing about their thoughts and feelings.
The Shag
When talking about having fun while dancing, the shag is one of the most common topics. And today, it is not just a recreational dance, but also a recognized dance in national and international dance competitions held across the United States.
Taking The Lead
In a male-led step called Carolina shag, more improvisation and imagination are preferred, so you may have to practice for days and weeks before actually completing a routine.
A Three-Day Event
The National Shag Dance Championship or NSDC takes place in Myrtle Beach. It is a three-day event divided into six categories: Junior I, Junior II, Non-Pro, Pro, Senior, and Masters.
Joining Junior I
In 2020, 7th-graders from North Caroline named Brooke Farrior and Billy West captivated the audience in the Junior I Division.
Making An Impression
The teenagers are both wearing elegant clothes. They confidently stand under the spotlight as they are being introduced.
Impressive Dancers
The audience is cheering the dancing duo on the whole time, and everyone seems to be enjoying their fabulous routine.
End With A Blast
The duo has saved the best part for the end of their dance where Billy squats while Brooke is holding his hands, then jumps with his feet twisted to one side.
