He has a habit of blessing others through simple acts of kindness like purchasing coffee for the person behind him in line and paying for the grocery bill for a stranger at the supermarket.
A Typical Day
One day, he was in line at a Burger King drive-through when he saw the woman in the car behind him through his rearview mirror.
His Decision
He felt something in his heart that urged him to do something for the woman so he decided to pay for her meal.
Her Story
As it turned out, the woman was Andy Denise Walters who, at the time, was grieving the loss of her husband of over four decades.
A Grateful Heart
Denise couldn’t believe what Calvin did and the timing of it all was just surreal. She said, “Somebody to do something that nice for you, on that very moment when I thought nothing could make me happy again, it just touched my heart,” so she followed Calvin, and shared the story with his employer.
Praises For Calvin
Calvin’s kind gesture was recognized before the County Board of Supervisors. His story impacted a lot of people, especially Denise who has become his good friend and recognizes him as her role model.
The Kindness Goes On
On Calvin’s recognition day, Denise also blessed him with two Burger King gift cards as a gesture of her being grateful. However, Calvin also had a surprise for her.
For Her Husband
He handed her an envelope of money for her to buy flowers for her late husband’s gravesite. Denise was immensely grateful for Calvin’s generosity and described him as someone who has a “heart of gold.”
