Grandparents, especially those who have already retired, have all the time in the world to do fun things they’ve always wanted to do.
But They Need Strength
Getting weaker physically is an inevitable part of growing old. This is why it’s important to take care of your health while you are still young.
Grandparent’s Day
The United States of America celebrates Grandparent’s Day every year, and a lot of people and businesses join in celebrating the lives of our dearest grandparents.
Grandparents Week
The Emerald Downs Thoroughbred Racetrack in Auburn, South Seattle, celebrated Grandparent’s Week during the last weekend of June 2023.
A Unique Race
They invited grandparents who would be willing to compete in a foot race at a horse track.
Ready, Set, Go!
Instead of horses, the starting gates were filled with 12 participating grandparents who were ready to run up to the finish line.
Ready To Go
The pistol went off and the seniors started running as if their lives depended on it. Of course, they were all having a good laugh while they were basking in the sun, aiming for the finish line.
The Fastest One
Things happened so fast. The winner was a grandpa who finished the 40-yard race in less than 10 seconds.
Consolation Prize
Everyone, even the audience, had a great time that day. All the participants got free ice cream at the end of the race, and the experience was definitely something they would want to tell their grandchildren.
