Meet Mariah
Mariah Galloway is a 7-year-old girl from West Bloomfield who was hailed a hero after she saved her great-grandma’s life.
On The Way Home
She just got picked up from school by her great-grandma when the incident happened. When they reached home, the old woman parked the car and stepped out of it.
It Was In Reverse
Little did the old woman know that the car was actually in reverse, so when she got out of the car, it started to roll out of her control.
She Panicked
Mariah’s great-grandma got worried and immediately panicked that she thought of trying to stop the car with her physical strength.
But It Didn’t Work
The old woman’s efforts and strength weren’t enough to stop the car. To make it worse, her leg and foot got stuck in one of the car’s wheels, and then she got dragged underneath it.
Mariah Jumped In
When Mariah saw what just happened, she immediately pulled out the keys from the ignition and quickly jumped out of the car. She sprinted for their door and rang the doorbell and called for her mom.
She Was Shocked
When Porchia Lane, Mariah’s mom, heard her daughter’s cries for help, she immediately opened the door. When she saw that Mariah was back where the vehicle was, she ran toward them and helped the old woman free herself from being stuck.
Help Came
Porchia called 911 and they all waited for the ambulance to arrive. Mariah’s great-grandma was brought to the hospital and immediately got the treatment she needed.
A Little Hero
The elderly woman needed b***d transfusions but aside from that, she is doing fine and is in the process of recovery. Thanks to her great-granddaughter’s quick thinking, she’s safe and alive.
