“God-Sent” Stranger Pays For Couple’s Gifts After Card Gets Declined

Kindness might be difficult to look for in our world today, but you never know what kind of blessing awaits you even in your most worrisome situation.

A Stop Over

A couple was passing through from Fort Worth, Texas to a family Christmas get-together and stopped over at the Walmart in Canton to buy presents for their kids.

They Couldn’t Pay

However, when they got into the checkout lane, they were unable to pay because their card kept getting declined.

“God-Sent” Woman

Eventually, as the couple was worrying and losing hope, a woman from Mississippi named Joyce Hargrave stepped in and said, “You know what? It’s Christmas! I’ll pay for it!”

They Were Hesitant

The couple was reluctant to accept the woman’s help because the bill was quite expensive. They were supposed to pay two hundred dollars. The wife said, “Oh, no! I don’t think you know how much this is! Let me see if I can put it on my credit card,” but the credit card was also declined.

She Insisted

However, Joyce was serious about paying for the couple’s purchases. She said, “Hush. I don’t want to hear any more. I’ve got this. I’m going to bless you like God’s blessed me.”

Unbelievable Kindness

Joyce was able to pay for the couple’s presents, and they were very thankful. It was found out later on that the card machine was just not working properly – the reason for the couple’s cards being declined.

An Inspiration

Another customer named Ben Hendley who witnessed the whole event was moved by Joyce’s kindness. He followed her to the parking lot to commend her for her gesture earlier. They had a quick conversation and he learned that she owns the “God Sent Staffing Agency.”

They Got Connected

Joyce and Ben got connected on social media, and Ben posted about her good deed, which also inspired a lot of people online. Joyce commented, “Making a difference around the world. This is not only me, this is us as a whole God-sent team.”
