Every child longs for love and affection and animal babies do too.
They Can Be Tamed
Lions may look intimidating since they are known for being the king of the jungle, but it is also a fact that they can be tamed too.
Meet Sirga
Sirga is a cheerful lioness who lives under the care of the Modisa Wildlife Project.
Saving The Lions
The Modisa Wildlife Project in Kalahari, Botswana has the mission of saving the lion population in Africa.
The Masterminds
27-year-old Conservationist, Valentin Gruener, and his partner from Denmark named Mikkel founded the project and raised a lot of adorable lions, including Sirga.
Sirga’s Story
Sirga was born along with three other cubs. Two of her siblings passed away so she was left behind by her pride.
They Took Her In
In 2012, Valentin and Mikkel found Sirga near-death on a farm. They immediately put her on treatment to restore her health.
A Playful Lioness
Sirga is so close to Valentin. When they play, she keeps her claws sheathed and lies with her head cheerfully on Valentin’s lap while he caresses her ears.
A Beacon For Success
Sirga is now being trained and prepared to be sent out into the wild. Because of her story, she is now a beacon for success at the Modisa Wildlife Project.
