Facebook, SPCA of Wake CountyMartin is a senior dog that was placed under the care of SPCA of Wake County after his owner decided that he couldn’t take care of him anymore.
Sad Decision
PexelsSamantha Ranlet, a marketing communications specialist at SPCA, said, “His (dad) was 89 years old and reached a point where he couldn’t provide the life that he felt Martin deserved. He wanted a better life for him,” so he decided to give up his beloved dog.
Lovely Dog
PexelsMartin seems to know and understand his dad’s decision. According to the staff at SPCA, “He adjusted pretty well. I don’t know if he understood what was going on, but even from day one, he was just this happy, easy-going, really sweet old man with a teddy bear face.”
He Was Rejected

Never Giving Up

A Loving Family
Facebook, SPCA of Wake CountyA couple who had taken care of senior dogs showed the best interest in adopting Martin. Samantha said, “They weren’t afraid of his age and they weren’t afraid of the fact that he had heartworm disease. They just fell in love with him and his teddy bear energy.”
