Kind Flight Attendant Comforts Nervous Passenger By Holding Her Hand

Being kind to others costs us nothing and who knows, by doing simple acts of kindness, we might be making a random person’s day 10x better.

Meet Floyd

Floyd Dean-Shannon is a 44-year-old flight attendant who goes the extra mile for his passengers.

Molly’s Story

Molly Simonson Lee was boarding her flight to New York when she noticed one of the passengers who got settled in a little after she did.

Nervous Flier

The moment she stepped on board, the woman knew and explained to those around her that she would go through many emotions during their flight as she hadn’t flown for a long time and she wasn’t fond of flying.

He’s A Delight

On the same plane was Floyd, who was being a delight to everyone on board. Molly said Floyd was on the intercom singing “Happy Birthday” to another passenger as they were getting settled.

He Made A Promise

Later on, when Floyd noticed the nervous woman, he went out of his way to comfort her. He told her, “Hey, I have you.”

I’m Here

When the plane started moving, Floyd held on to his coffee and sat beside the passenger for 10 minutes. He explained to her what was happening, why it was happening, and the feelings, sights, and sounds she would experience throughout the flight.

His “Special Weapon”

Eventually, when the woman had calmed down, Floyd pulled out his “secret weapon.” He made the passenger a mimosa to help her calm down and become at ease.

“Perfect Flight Attendant”

The story reached the higher-ups at Delta Airlines and they decided to honor Floyd by creating a social media post where they described him as the “perfect flight attendant” who is “personable, kind and knowledgeable about each and every squeak and bump.”
