Most, if not all, parents have big dreams for their children. At a young age, they have instilled that dream in them through little things and basic life lessons.

Generations Of Service

We often hear about families whose great-grandfathers, grandfathers, and fathers have all gone through years of service to the country, and it is something their families are immensely proud of.

Badge Of Honor

While most men in the army aspire to receive lots of badges of honor from the government, for this dad and son, the pride and honor that they are giving to receiving from each other are what hold the most value.

Marine Master Sergeant Michael Fisher is recorded having an eventful moment with his soldier son, 2nd Lieutenant Michael Fisher.

It was that much-awaited moment when Marine Master Sergeant Michael Fisher was going to give his son his first salute, or what we call the “Silver Dollar Salute”.

The moment between the father and son was an emotional one. Although the senior was trying to put on a brave face while honoring his beloved son, we can sense in his voice that he was holding back his tears, just as his son was too.

Congratulations, Sir

The father stated how proud he is of watching his son become a fine man of honor. He said, “I watched you grow and mature and become the man that you are today. It is a privilege to render you your first salute. But it is a greater honor to say Congratulations, Sir, for your commission.”

Slowly, Marine Master Sergeant Michael Fisher gave 2nd Lieutenant Michael Fisher an honorable salute. The son can be seen curling his lips to try and stop his tears from falling.
