Meet Otto
Otto is a frail elderly cat who was found lonely on an apartment stairway.
His Condition
His new owner’s heart melted after seeing his state for the first time. She said, “He looked really old, he looked like he hadn’t been fed or given water in quite a while. I tried to pick him up and he just let me, and so I brought him into our apartment.”
New Look
His fur was severely matted when he was found so it had to be shaved off.
Grateful Cat
Throughout his recovery process, Otto displayed immense gratitude to those who were giving him a new chance at life.
Adjustment Period
On the first days of his stay at his new home, he was usually very nervous, often hiding in his litter box when startled. But through time, he started showing signs of improvement. His new owner said, “Every time we give him food or treats or anything, he meows and just looks at us with such appreciation.”
New Family
The family who initially fostered him eventually decided to adopt him permanently and introduced him to their other cats, Sam and Dean.
Gaining Weight
After some weeks, Otto gradually gained weight from 7.5 pounds to 11 pounds, which was a clear indicator of his improving health.
New Life
Otto now has the energy to play with toys and confidently and curiously explore his new environment. His eyes convey a quiet gratitude for his second opportunity at life as well as a depth of his soulful character.
