Maybe it’s true that “birds of the same feather flock together” because if we think about it, most of the friends that we have are those people who share the same interests and personalities that we have.

Bruno is a sweet dog under the care of SPCA of Wake County who had an ugly past under the hands of his former owners.

His Story

Bruno was only 1 year old when he suffered mistreatment by his previous owners. He spent his first year living in chains outside the house.

He ended up losing his ear when he got brutally attacked by another dog who bit his ears while he wasn’t to run away because of his chains.

A Bright Personality

Despite all the tragic moments he had to endure, Bruno remained a loving dog. The SPCA of Wake County even said that he’s a big “love bug” and his tail doesn’t stop wagging.

Bruno has a stuffed dog toy that he carries around everywhere. It was given to him when he was rescued by the SPCA of Wake County.

Now They’re Twins

The staff at the shelter knew how much Bruno loved his stuffed toy, but they were surprised to see how attached he really was to it when he modified the stuffed toy’s ears to look like his.

Someone To Relate To

The shelter wrote on Facebook, “Bruno tore one of the ears off his favorite stuffed toy — the same ear he’s missing himself… The staff member who found this couldn’t believe it. Bruno knows there’s nothing wrong with him, and now he has a best friend just like him to prove it.”

Finding A Parent

The shelter’s social media post about Bruno captured the hearts of many people who volunteered to adopt him. Spc. Levi Pinnix was second on the list to adopt the doggo.

His New Dad

When the first adoption wasn’t successful, it was good news for Spc. Pinnix. By the time he met Bruno, he knew he was the dog for him. He said, “They opened the door, and the first thing he does is run up to you with his tail wagging… After about 30 minutes of playing with him, I knew I was taking him home.”
