A Family Of Ducks
PexelsOne day, a mama duck and her ducklings were having a nice walk until some of her babies fell between the gaps in a sewer drain cover.
The Mother Duck Was Stressed
PexelsA young woman named Mindy happened to pass by, and she noticed the mother duck’s distress. When she observed the situation, she heard the ducklings’ chirps from the drain cover.
The Rescue Begins
PexelsMindy tried to lift the drain cover off of the ground on her own. When she realized that it was too heavy, she called up a friend and went back into her home briefly to get some kitchen utensils.
They’re Scared
PexelsMindy’s friend arrived, and they lifted the cover off successfully, but the ducklings got scared and hid in the drain, so they bought some bread, tore it up, and threw the pieces into the sewer, causing the ducklings to emerge from the drain.
Three Down
Facebook, The DodoUsing her tongs, Mindy managed to pick up three ducklings, but the others were still there so some city officials arrived to rescue the remaining ducklings using a net but it only made the remaining ducklings run even further into the drain.
They Used A Fire Hydrant
PexelsMore city officials came and they made water flow down the drain using a fire hydrant to push the ducklings out of their hiding place.
They’re All Safe
Facebook, The DodoMindy reached down and clutched the other ducklings with her tongs. At last, all the ducklings were safe.
Reunited With Mama
Facebook, The DodoMindy found the mother duck and the other ducklings in a nearby stream. She placed the rescued ducklings at the water’s edge, and they immediately rushed back to their mother who also quickly swam toward them.
