Roadie, a half German Shepherd, half Australian Shepherd, was found wandering the streets of Franklin, Indiana with a bottle attached to her collar.

Calling For Help

The guy who found her called the director of Johnson County Animal Control, Michael Delp, who brought her to the shelter.

A Love Letter

They took out the letter inside Roadie’s bottle and found out about her story.

She Was A Spoiled Dog

The letter tells of how Roadie would sleep on her own couch and her own memory foam bed. Her owner would also feed her steak, chicken, and rice.

But It All Changed

But her owner lost his job and home due to the pandemic, and taking care of her was expensive and out of his budget.

Finding A New Home

When the chief of the White River Township Fire Department, Jeremy Pell, heard about Roadie’s story, he figured she could help him with the department’s search and rescue.

A Perfect Pair

Jeremy says, “She looks to me for guidance and acceptance and she tries to do her job.” Roadie now works alongside Jeremy and they have already formed a great bond.
