Although they are not as energetic as dogs, cats can be expressive in different unique ways.
Meet Fishtopher
Fishtopher is a five-year-old shelter cat who’s won the hearts of many people with his expressive face.
His Story
He was taken in by the Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center after he was found as a stray in New Jersey.
The staff at the shelter noticed how sad Fishtopher’s eyes were – probably because he was longing to be a part of a loving family.
So They Helped Him Find One
The staff created a Petfinder account for Fishtopher, which is an online database of animals who need homes and also has a pet-care resource directory, discussion forms, and a free library of pet-care articles.
Fishtopher’s profile described him as “very sad and depressed, and will only eat when he has company,” but also a “sweet, easy-going, and laid-back boy.”
He Became Popular
When Molly Clarke saw Fishtopher’s Petfinder profile, she took a screenshot of his description, including the cat’s photo, and posted it on Twitter.
People Want To Adopt Him
Soon enough, Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center had been receiving hundreds of inquiries about adopting Fishtopher. People even started lining up outside their office, waiting for an opportunity to become Fishtopher’s owner.
Meet Laura And Tanner
Finally, Laura Folts and Tanner Callahan were the ones who were able to officially adopt Fishtopher. They drive to the shelter for two hours to pick up the sweet cat and take him to his new home.
He’s Changed
All the love and affection his new owners have been giving him made a huge impact on the changes in his behavior and attitude. Fishtopher’s ears are now perked up and his eyes became brighter since he found his new family.
