Holding the line at the grocery is one of the most embarrassing moments a person can get into.
Meet Nick
Nick Tate is a 20-year-old cashier at a Walmart in Newcastle, Oklahoma.
Mom In Distress
One busy Friday night, a mom with two little girls and a baby was taking long at Nick’s checkout lane because her WIC card won’t work.
Angry Customers
“(There were) more customers, more grumbling and dirty looks as they moved to the other lane and I’m frustrated and trying not to cry. At this point, a lady we know came up and asked why I was causing so many problems,” said the woman.
The Voice Of God
Nick called a manager to help, and at that moment he felt something. “I felt like God was calling for me to pay her bill. It was without a doubt – God was saying ‘Pay for this’,” said Nick.
Sharing Her Experience
The mom took to Facebook to share with her friends and family how a Walmart cashier pulled out his own credit card to pay for her $60-grocery while she’s having a hard time dealing with her foster kids and shame.
Honoring His Kindness
When Nick’s story of kindness spread, multiple managers from Walmart have contacted him to honor him for his exceptional act of kindness.
Answered Prayers
Those who heard about him sent him in-kind donations to fulfill his dreams to become a missionary and go to Honduras.
His Good Karma
“Someone donated $10,000 for me to go down there. Right now, I’m a youth and children’s pastor at a church, and I’m loving it. It is so much fun. Then, I play soccer every other night with locals just to dive into the community,” said Nick.
