If you have been a good member of a community, it’s given that people whose lives you’ve touched will definitely give back the favors and good deeds you have given them.
Meet Tim
Tim is one of the most remarkable baggers at the Harris Teeter in Glenwood Village.
Personal Relationships
Everyone knows him for being friendly and thoughtful, which is probably why he’s made quite a lot of friends in the 23 years that he’s been working at the grocery store.
More Than Just A Bagger
One of the great friends Tim made at the grocery store was Julie Caviness, a regular customer who would often exchange stories, laugh, and even cry with him at times.
He’s Leaving
One day, Tim told Julie that he was leaving and will be working at a new workplace that was closer to his home. Of course, the woman started crying and said, “You can’t leave me.”
Better Opportunity
Despite Julie’s sadness that her friend would be leaving, she knew that Tim wouldn’t have to commute 45 minutes to and from work anymore when he gets transferred to the job he was offered that was only nine minutes from his home.
Farewell Party
Instead of hindering Tim from grabbing a better work opportunity, Julie thought of organizing a farewell party for him by initiating a GoFundMe and inviting Tim’s other friends in the community.
It Was Jam-Packed
The local residents who showed up after Tim’s last shift surprised him with balloons, notes, and warm hugs.
A Grand Gift
The initial goal of GoFundMe was only $1,000, but that goal was reached within the first hour, and donations just kept coming until it had reached $22,000, and today it’s more than $30000 with donations still coming in.
