D**k’s Passion

D**k has been known to run races, and he has passed on this passion to his son.

A Supposed Hindrance

Unfortunately, his son, Rick, was born with cerebral palsy and he cannot walk, but they didn’t let it get in their way.

The father and son duo has more than 1000 races on their name, and they have even made the international news several times.

How It Started

Their running journey started when Rick asked if he could join a 5-mile run for charity for someone who was paralyzed due to an accident.

Their Strategy

During triathlons, D**k would pull his son through the water with a mini boat, and for the third part of the race, they would use a two-seater bicycle.

A Legend

D**k passed away when he was 80 years old. One of his sons said, “He inspired people to look at all their children as equals no matter their disability.”
